It’s National Volunteers Week!

Volunteers’ Week is an annual event which takes place at the start of June.

Running at a little over a week, in fact over 12 days, it celebrates the contribution made by millions of volunteers across the UK.

to learn more about the benefits of volunteering click here to read an online article by the NHS.

Here in our own WEA office we have three wonderful volunteers who will be sharing their experiences with the blog very soon, but we are always looking for more willing help to:

  • Help in class with administration tasks e.g. with paperwork or with student support
  • Join our local WEA branches and attend meetings, campaigns and fundraising.
  • Distribute brochures across the region
  • act as befrienders to new WEA students

If you are interested in any of the above, (or perhaps you can think of something else?) please contact the office on 01522 522 472 or email us at and we will be in touch – we really do welcome and appreciate your involvement.

The personal and professional benefits of volunteering are huge, so why not give it a try?
